Chapter the Second, Check.

Footnotes excepted, I've as good as finished the judicial chaper. All I need is a good translation of 'rechtsvrede' and I just can't find one anywhere.

Also, in the spirit of me starting Lent three weeks early, my mum is not making pancakes tonight. Sadness ensuing. Exactly a year since me and Matt's pancake tasting session and the subsequent korfball training session with very full bellies as well. Manchester I miss thee.

Talmen is mijn middelnaam

Tonight's going to be great woo! First we're making pancakes with bacon, and then Matt's tagging along to korfball, something that he'd already suggested after he quit his job. And then we're off to this comedy night thing with Alice.

I was gonna start on my Research Outline today, but after writing a single sentence I spent the rest of the day reading up on the whole Natalee Holloway thing, and watching everything on youtube. I don't feel too cheap doing that, as long as I don't read the comments on any of the clips. My god, what a combination: the most ignorant Dutch imagineable in conversation with Americans shouting for the death penalty. Sadly, it's almost amusing in a way.

Woww I wonder why the Dutchies never came up with Pancake day..

just reading in the guardian about what and why exactly, and apparently it's in decline, BUT the 18-24 year olds are still at it good and proper. Did you never eat pancakes for a meal when you were little? Liesbeth, our babysitter, used to make them for us in our lunch break once or twice a year, pretty much the only time we'd go to her house instead of ours. But it was also one of those meals you'd choose if it was your birthday, or if you'd caught the bean in the dessert on Twelfth Night.

Hmmm.. "The pancake is featured in cookbooks as far back as 1439 and the tradition of tossing or flipping them dates back at least as far as the 17th century."

I went to Aldi and bought pancake mix, the thinnest bacon I could find, sour apples, thick sirup and icing sugar. Let's see if I can how em Brits how to make proper pancakes tomorrow!

Right, I did get myself a GP, but now the hospital is refusing to pick up the phone, gmbl.

edit: Am I right in thinking a GP appointment card shouldn't be advertising the local hairdresser/estate agent/hair removal salon?
