I've come to the stage where I just can't be arsed anymore..

Dissertation Schmissertation. I want my cider in the sun.

I'm gutted I've still not seen Matt! I've hardly been home, and today I've even left my phone there so I can't text him to ask how his first day went. He left me a really sweet note in the mailbox when he came round the other day though, which I didn't find until the next morning.

Sarah is a star, helping me out with my big D! Yesterday we went through it for ages and then we had Ben&Jerries and watched a Doctor Who off one of my spanking new dvds I'm not allowed to touch until after hand in. I really want to ask both her and Matt to come join Helle, Anders and myself for dinner on Thursday, hope Helle's alright with that.

Me and Helle went to the cinema yesterday.

And seeing as we didn't have a clue what was on, we just went and randomly decided to go and see 'wanted'. James McAvoy, why not.

First scene.

'A thousand years ago a group of weavers formed a fraternity of assassins'

Weavers?!

We had SUCH a giggle. Especially with Helle and her fetish for factories and her penchant for 'the working claaaasses.'

Even better though: We do not kill randomly, THE LOOM OF FATE tells us so.

Moving onto the third chapter, memorable moment!

Scientists, slice-eager surgeons, body-snatchers, it's all there. Bless Thomas Hardy for giving me this quote to use "Miss Melbury’s view of the doctor as a merciless, unwavering, irresistible scientist, was not quite in accordance with fact"

Also, it appears that the heavens have opened. Dear oh dear. I for one am not in favour of an irrestistably sunny summer, but we can't have this, there's Lowlands to consider. We were so lucky with the weather last year, plus Glasto this year, that I'm a bit anxious about it all. Only just over a week left though, weehoo!

Helle's cooking me dinner tonight so I can finally see her halls!

What a lovely morning!

Woke up from my afternoon nap (it was rather late yesterday) and all the doors in the house were open, everyone was sitting in the garden and the radio was on loud. This house is just brilliant over the summer, especially because it's still full of people. Alice and Rach justgot ice-creams and tonight we're cooking chili con carne together, yay!

Hayley and her sister Kelly stayed over last night. We dropped them off at the station and I'd already cycled to Rusholme when my phone rang, they'd missed the last train. Either that or Hayley made up the half one train to Preston, which sort of makes me sense. So I had Hayley in my big double bed and Kelly slept on the couch, giving my housemates quite a fright this morning. Anyway, fun was had. Helle even had to shed a few tears when we said goodbye, it'll be the last time with the three of us for quite a long time! End of an era, aww..

Noeeeeeeeeee

I'm sure it said 'dark brown' on the packet

Better make sure my fringe won't get streaky, why not.. *splurts* There wasn't half as much dye as I expected, and now I've got a BLACK fringe while, at the back, it's still very much light brown.

Also, Helle just texted me, the film's not out until next week. FOR FANDEN.

Back!

Oooh had such a great time!

More later, but..

ORANJE! OMG. I forgot how much I love football. SO GOOD. Anders lost his money because he bet against Holland, haha. Should they make it to the final I'd really want to fly home but I'm at Glasto FOR FANDEN!

Who wants to come watch the game with me on Friday?! :D

I know quite a lot of Danish now, but I'm not too sure about spelling so I'll have to get back to you on that. I'm having an hamaaazing time though. Helle's the best host evaah.

We're having a night in watching the footy tomorrow woo!

mof, I saw Sweden, learned how tp curse the Danes in Swedish and my phone told me that I was actually in Sweden. Are you proud?

The weather was good woo!

So we did go walking in the Peaks today. Started in a forest and then did a bit of the pennine way and walked all the way back in a circle. I'll check with Matthew how much it actually was but we walked for five hours, without seeing a drop of rain! I'm EXHAUSTED. It was so nice though. We bought one of those detailed maps and got our inspiration from there. Matt wants to do the same route again when my knee's, as he said it, 'repaired' and see if we can do it in less but I'm thinking about taking it more up North. The Pennine way is going past Hadrian's wall so woo, walk to Schotland, I like it.

Also, despite all the 'if I crash my knee now, the helicopter heroes will actually come and save me, right?' comments, today's really helped me get more confident about my knee. I only needed a hand getting down a hill once or twice, and Matt even made a really good picture of me wading through a stream on my bare feet, so woo, confidence of the physique all round.

Tomorrow night we're having a bbq/small parteh. I can only hope some people show up because most are still revising. But Matt's off to his Swiss wedding on Tuesday so we've got no choice really. I'm a bit sad, but seeing as this week's been so amazing and Copenhagen is actually only a week off AND Glasto's drawing close as well, I've got no time to feel sad really.

Aww, however, Anders, Helle's boyfriend has gone and injured himself (not too sure how or why, the telephone died and neither me or Helle have credit) so she's flying off to Denmark tomorrow rather than come with us on Friday. I hope he's gonna be alright, and that we won't be too much in the way when we get there next week..

Mein Gott.. one lovely weekend!

Went to Sheffield on Saturday to Rhian's parteh, and had a lovely time eating the mof's delicious homemade humous, watching eurovision, watching de mof get absolutely smashed and getting a teensie bit smashed myself as well. Great night anyway! Felt bad I had to sneak out in the morning, but Preston was awaiting for me..

Preston, you might say? YESH. Hayley invited me and Helle down to where she lives, which is actually just outside of Preston, in Hoghton, and the surprise she'd prepared for us was to go down to Hoghton Tower and get a full tour! :D Third most haunted house in Britain apparently, and all the stories made the tour even more interesting. And even though some of the stuff, like 'Shakespeare spent his youth here and my own theory is that he received inspiration for his balcony scenes from this balcony right here' was bullocks, I did really like the James the Ist knights beef, hence it's now called SIRloin Steak business. Also, Dickens went for a visit and then published an article in which he declared it to be a dump, haha. That's when they decided to renovate the place though, so go team Charles!

Rest of the day we spent in pubs. One was the Sirloin haha, and the other Hayley's local pub, with her parents, after dinner, where they bought us drinks and riduculed us for being pint drinking students. They were lovely, and so very very Northern. Very much the same Preston Northerness as Katja last year. Aaand they made us a Sunday Dinner, which Helle was very excited about, because it was her first homecooked one. The next day we went for a walk around Preston, and I saw (from the car, so I couldn't make a pic, booo) a sign saying: WELCOME TO PRESTON. TWINNED WITH ALMELO (NL). Woo! Didn't see any swimming pool paradises called Almelo Palace though..

Aaanyway, splendid weekend, and here's some photos from the castle:

Woo, off for a weekend of loveliness.

Sheffield and Preston, here I come!

Went to Rileys to get my arse kicked at pool yesterday night, good fun. I won one game out of ten though, not bad. And had such a good lie in this morning, you wouldn't believe!

Matt's shaved off his curls again. It's so funny, it's just like our friendship's gone back a whole year. Me and Joe were laughing at how tiny his head looks now, in comparison to his body. That may just be because we're used to his massive 'fro though, I don't know.

Ohh I'm so curious at what Hayley's got planned for us on Sunday..

Back in Gouda..

..and I'm not sure whether I want to go to Amsterdam tonight. Had a bit of a fall on Tuesday night, where I tipsily assumed to be able to run up the stairs after we came home from Rachel's bday night out. Small dislocation and pop, back in, so not too bad, but it is all swollen and painful again. Soo I was forced to take the crutches on the plane again, but I certainly don't want to take them to Dam, I'll be enough of a nuisance as it is, and they just want to have a good night out. Besides, I won't be joining them for the whole weekend anyway, so I'm not sure they really want me for company. Blegh. I wish I never agreed to come.

Hayley's just sent me a lovely message. She's planned a birthday surprise for Helle on the 25th of May, and they've both said I should come too! :D All I know it that it's somewhere near Preston and it's something during the day and we're staying at Hayley's house after. Excitement.. Now, I need to come up with an interesting present that involves both girls: was still very much on crutches when Helle was celebrating her birthday, so I only got her some licorice, and Hayley's is next week, and I still haven't got a clue what to get her. Hmmm I need inspiration..

I'm going to Copenhagen!

First week of June; Helle's just bought mine and Hayley's ticket for us. Can't wait to pay in proper foreign currency again, wooo!

As for other news, Freek the fysiotherapist took my knee out of the brace yesterday, and started bending my knee slightly. I was scared to death; those clumsy Manchester doctors and nurses might just have scarred me for life. It's still going a teensie bit better every day, so I sort fo feel like doing a dance of some sort, or some skipping. probably shouldn't though.

Despite the fact that I'm happy that I managed to move my flight, I'm rather excited about going back now. Matt's having his interview today, I wonder how he's doing..
